Strange & Extraordinary Fest, Austin’s newest festival dedicated to the paranormal, folklore, UFO encounters, cryptids, and the strange was held at KMFA Studios on Saturday, March 28. It was a full day of panels, vendors, podcast recording, a haunted museum and a seance.
The festival featured panels by presenters from around Texas, including, from Austin, Alexis Arredondo, Stephen Belyeu and Jefferey Downs from The Night Owl Podcast, Brandon Hodge from the MysteriousPlanchette.com and Ayden Castellanos from the Susto podcast.
Some of the interactive elements of the festival were the ParaPeculiar Museum of Haunted Items and the Bizarre Bazaar. The ParaPeculiar Museum of Haunted Items was curated by Nicole & Damian of ND ParaHouse and featured the Hill House Chair and the Haunted Mirror, and a full investigation setup complete with radios, spirit boxes, and other device The Bizarre Bazaar, curated by The Darker Side of Austin and featured local artists and artisans, libraries and non-profits including Factorum Monstrum, Fendy Witch, The Emo Alien, Sass Craft Society, the Anomaly Archives and more.
