DESCRIPTION:Friday\, October 4The Far Out LoungeDoors at 7pm  \nPEELANDER-Z\, the Japanese Action Comic Punk Band based in NYC\, was originally formed in 1998 by Peelander-Yellow\, Peelander-Red\, and Peelander-Blue\, after meeting in New York City (although they’ll tell you they’re all from the Z area on the planet Peelander). Peelander-Green was welcomed in July 2008 after Blue left the band. \nPeelander–Z has appeared at major music festivals including Bonnaroo and the Vans Warped Tour and has also been featured on TV programs such as VH1’s “Best Week Ever” and Comedy Central’s “Upright Citizens Brigade” among others. The band has also been covered by SPIN\, Rolling Stone\, Village Voice\, NPR and The Onion among many others. \nAt its live shows\, Peelander–Z guarantees intense audience participation and a chance to exercise. You’ll see the band in colorful costumes reminiscent of Japanese anime\, though they describe their outfits as their skin. You’ll also see The Red Squid\, human bowling and all around insanity. DESCRIPTION:The Fifteenth Annual Austin Corn Lovers Fiesta will take place Saturday October 5th at Sagebrush Austin. This year is a roots heavy lineup starring Billy Bremner’s Rockfiles. Billy was\, of course\, a member of Rockpile the seminal UK act who released only one album – the brilliant ‘Seconds Of Pleasure’. The band also featured Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds and Billy can be heard on their visceral late 70s and early 80s solo albums. But that wasn’t his beginning or the end – he has a career stretching back to the last half of the 60s that saw him work with The Luvvers\, The Walker Brothers\, Shakin’ Stevens\, The Pretenders\, Rosie Flores\, The Coal Porters\, Carlene Carter and Elvis Costello to name just a few. The band will concentrate on the album mentioned above and other songs from throughout Billy’s career. Rockfiles features Billy’s crack Swedish rhythm section and as an added bonus\, Bobby Cochran (Rockabilly hall of famer and nephew of R’n’R pioneer Eddie Cochran) will handle the second guitar duties.Rounding out the lineup we’ve got Austin’s Ghost Wolves who have an album being released via Saustex on Halloween titled ‘Consumer Waste’\, the hosts and ACLF perrenials the Hickoids who are now in their fortieth year and are dropping two new singles the end of September\, San Antonio’s In and Outlaws who are featuring a rejiggered\, expanded lineup\, our old friend Stevie Tombstone will be laying some country-blues\, Jean Caffeine and Male Order Brides will be laying down some understated but quirky country and we’re really pleased to be bringing a new collaboration between Ty Gavin (Austin first wave punk band The Next)\, X (Xavier Aguirre) and Eric Hisaw to the stage — mashing up the blues\, proto punk and a side of country.Make the scene.   \nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/2286186741729408/
