As far as Mel Brooks is concerned, every movie genre is fair game for mockery. He did it to Westerns with Blazing Saddles, and he does it again to classic monster movies with this endlessly quotable classic, co-written by and starring the irreplaceable Gene Wilder. Only someone with an abby-normal brain would miss it.
