Taps & Tapes: Cannibal! The Musical
March 14, 2020 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Nothing pairs with jaunty show tunes like feasting on human flesh!
Long before SOUTH PARK would go on to corrupt the youth of America, Trey Parker and Matt Stone were just a couple of film-school doofuses studying at The University of Colorado in Boulder. With a shoestring budget and some free time in between classes, Parker and friends assembled CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL, a very charming and very bloody ode to the infamous Alfred Packer murders.
Although CANNIBAL! enjoys the unmistakable rough edges of a student film made on the cheap, the qualities Parker and Stone are now loved (and loathed) for are already present: absurd schoolboy humor, irreverence for American traditions, a penchant for gruesome violence, and sincere devotion to musical theater.
