Of those many adaptations, none has fascinated our popular culture quite like Bela Lugosi’s timeless interpretation, which celebrates its 90th anniversary this year. After honing his undead act on the Broadway stage, Lugosi brought Dracula to Hollywood and terrified the world with an unsettling combination of menace and charisma.
