Austin Punk History with Tim Stegall

Join the Texas Music Museum for a conversation with writer and musician Tim Stegall on his ongoing Austin Punk Chronicles series with the Austin Chronicle. From its origins in the city’s small-but-fascinating glam scene through the big boom of the Sex Pistols in San Antonio, the Violators and Skunks at Raul’s, and into Club Foot, Emo’s, and beyond, Stegall has dug deep into Austin’s punk past with a staggering array of new interviews and oral histories. Moderated by museum board member Jason Mellard, we’ll hear about Tim’s own experience in the scene with the Hormones, what led him to write this history of Austin punk, and what comes next for the project.
