Poisonous plants, or baneful herbs, have been associated with witchcraft for hundreds if not thousands of years. Their psychoactive and lethal potentials have earned them infamous reputations among humans. In the past and in some parts of the world today what would be considered poisonous to most people was spiritually important. The altered states that plants like mandrake, henbane and opium induced were utilized to access the spirit world, to work magic and to increase one’s spiritual gnosis. In this class we will explore some of the most important plants on The Poison Path. Coby will discuss their mythological associations, magical correspondences and how they can safely be applied to magical practice today. Coby will share some of his personal baneful formulas, how they were created and their occult uses.
